Bulgari Octo Finissimo Extra Thin Rose Gold Automatic 102912

For us here at Watch Vault, the Octo Finissimo series is one of the most refreshing releases of the past decade and one that will no doubt be a future icon in the world of horology.

Of the many iterations of the Octo Finissimo line, the 102912 we have here is my favourite and from my personal collection. Fashioned in Rose Gold, the case and bracelet are then sandblasted to create a matte finish. This is the coolest finish they've done in my opinion as it allows the glow of the gold to be retained, while not having any polished surfaces to attract too much attention. It's quite an amazing mix of stealth and luxury at the same time, and a tough trick to pull off.

The case is an astonishingly thin 5.15mm while measuring 40mm across. It’s powered by the BVL 138 calibre, itself measuring a scant 2.23mm thick. Along with this ridiculously thin case, the integrated rose gold bracelet is a wonder in itself. Again, super thin, perfectly formed links taper to a double-fold clasp with it’s own little party trick. The folding mechanism is partially recessed into the clasp and links, helping it to be ultra-comfortable, and ultra-thin. To add to the comfort, the rear of the lugs are relieved to allow it to breathe on the wrist.

This particular piece was first sold locally in March 2022 and presents in TZ Good condition. Due to the nature of sandblasted gold, it shows some rub marks on the bezel and bracelet. the reason for the "Good' rather than 'Excellent' grading on our scale is due to the presence of a very small nick on the bevel line above the crown, and a small ding on the bezel near 11. Otherwise all just small rub marks. Please see images for full condition details.

Last RRP on this now discontinued pieces was $72,100 AUD. It is no longer available, and replaced with a polished reference, giving a completely different look. This is the one to have.
