Kudoke K1 Salmon

For those that don't know Kudoke, they're definitely an Independent worth having on your radar. The eponymous brand of Stefan Kudoke, Master Watchmaker and GPHG laureate, he was best known for his meticulous hand skeletonizing and engraving work, but in recent years has branched out to include some less intricate time-only pieces to the range, and thus allowing more people to experience the magic of this brand.

The piece we have here is based around the first piece amongst this HANDwerk (handmade) line, and is known simply as the Kudoke 1 Salmon. Featuring a 39mm case in steel, it stands at just 9.5mm thick. Within this lies a classically styled dial in Salmon, with an outer applied rhodinized ring for the minute track and another for the sub-seconds at 9. The hands are tempered blue steel, with the signature Kudoke infinity hour hand giving amazing legibility against the white of the dial.

Powering it is the in-house Kaliber 1. Initially based on the fantastic A11 calibre from Habring, it is heavily modified and given a frosted wheel bridge which is hand-finished, and also features a hand-engraved balance cock with infinity symbol. This particular piece was optioned with grey frosting rather than gold, with the balance cock and Kudoke name plate in rose gold, along with blued screws which is a lovely match for the dial elements.

This particular piece was first delivered in Feb 2022 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition. Shows some minor hairlines, light scratches and some swirls, but nothing large and no dings or dents are present. Please see images for full condition details.

Mounted to a lovely Fluco Cordovan strap in a short size, and includes the original Kudoke 'gator strap that is unworn. with tang buckle. Kudoke deployant shows some desk diving marks on the buckle.

No service history, but a little new for that. Keeping COSC time.

Phenomenal value for money amongst the Independent world, and a very special piece indeed. If you're contemplating a step into indies, this would be an excellent one to start with and see what all the fuss is about.
