A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Annual Calendar Rose Gold 238.032 

The 1815 series is our personal favourite from A. Lange & Sohne, and along with the almighty Chrono, this is perhaps our favourite expression of the series. Launched in 2018, the 1815 Annual Calendar is a triumph of design and functionality, and has clearly been thought through to the nth degree, as you'd expect from Lange. 

The case is crafted in 18k rose gold, and measures in at 40mm, with a lug-to-lug of 46.9mm and a thickness of just 10.1mm, with the beautiful combination of brushed case flanks and polished bezel and lugs seen in second generation and on rose gold pieces from Lange. It houses a stunning solid silver argente dial that is perhaps one of the most legible, and certainly beautiful to these eyes, within the Lange range of complicated watches, and annual calendars in general. It's the small things, like the addition of the 'Annual Calendar' text within the 3 subdial which is used to balance out the month and date of the 9 subdial, that makes the execution so successful in our eyes. 

The calibre used is the manually wound L051.3, which is as stunning as you'd expect a movement from Lange to be. While some may wish for automatic winding on a calendar watch, the combination of a 72 hour power reserve with the quick adjust pusher at two is actually more practical as far as we're concerned, especially if you don't have a preference for using watch winders. What it means is that if you go more than 3 days without winding it, and you drop back a few days on the calendar, you can simply wind the watch and then use the pusher to advance all calendar functions together in sync. Super easy. More calendar watches should feature this. 

It's finished with Lange's classic deep burgundy/brown 'gator strap on rose gold tang buckle.

This particular piece was first sold in 2021 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition. The case shows some swirlies and light hairlines typical of gold, but no dings, dents or nicks. Please see images for full condition details.

Strap is in fantastic condition, with only light signs of use. Buckle shows minor desk dive marks.

No service history, but far too new for that. Keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.
