Girard Perregaux Laureato Absolute Gold Fever 81060-21-492-FH3A

The Absolute is an oft-overlooked series of Laureato, but some of their coolest watches exist within this series. Think of it as what the Offshore is to the Royal Oak, and you'll get the idea. This particular version was released in a limited run of 188 pieces in 2021, and is known as the Absolute Gold Fever, and is definitely worth your attention.

Utilising a 44mm case in Grade 5 titanium that is coated in black PVD, it wears beautifully on the wrist thanks to its lightweight construction and sloping integrated lugs. The beveled portions of the case feature a high-gloss finish, lending far more detail and finish to the case than you'd usually see with PVD which is a lovely touch. Within this spectacular case lies a matte black dial with a sandwich construction, with its sunken highly polished gold markers and gold sub-dials, matched by the applied GP at 12. It's topped with brushed and polished gold hour and minute hands that are lumed, and finishing it off is a discreet date at 4:30.

Powering it is the Calibre GP03300, a self-winding automatic chronograph which is very well finished despite being hidden by the closed case back. To top it off it's 300m water resistant, and is mounted to one of the best straps we've ever had the pleasure of strapping to our wrists. It features an FKM rubber construction, with textile-like detailing, black stitching and an adjustable titanium deployant allowing you to get the perfect fit. It also includes the signature Gold Fever strap, which is FKM rubber injected with actual 18K gold, with a fabric texture effect and golden stitching. 

This particular piece was purchased locally in April 2022 and remains in TZ 'Near Mint' condition, with barely any hints of use other than a scratch on the case back near the 6 o'clock lug side. PVD shows no scratching or scuffs anywhere. Please see images for full condition details.
