MB&F M.A.D 2 Green Edition
From the mind of creative genius Max Busser of MB&F comes the M.A.D 2, a successor to the simply bananas M.A.D 1 that has allowed the brilliance of MB&F to reach more collectors hands. And given MB&F is one of our very favourite brands here at WV, we think that's something really special.
The M.A.D 2 comes from the mind of Eric Giroud, famed designer who has done a lot of work on MB&F's main lines. An ode to club culture the M.A.D.2 features raised central subdials for the hours and minutes, which are designed to look like turntables from a mixing console. This hides a jump-hour complication, indicated by the 'picks' at the centre of each subdial.
The dial itself fills only the central portion of the case with the outer giving a view to the rotor beneath which has been inspired by the stroboscopic band of the Technics SL-1200, complete with Super-Luminova stop pins, which looks amazing as it spins with each movement of your wrist, especially at night.
The case itself measures in at 42mm, and wears considerable smaller than the M.A.D 1 due to the pebble-like structure and thinner profile at 12.3mm, as well as the inset dial. Lug-to-lug is 48.5mm, and it is water resistant to 30m so not one for swimming with. Powering it is the Swiss made Manufacture La Joux-Perret calibre G101 with Bi-directional jumping hour and trailing minutes module developed by MB&F.
This particular piece remains unworn, and the strap has never been fitted. Please excuse any dust or fingerprints, we chose not to wipe it down much to ensure no hairlines or swirls. See images for full condition details.
