Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Micro Rotor Ice Blue Steel LCF013.AC.CG7.1 

Laurent Ferrier are quite simply some of the finest classically styled watches of the modern era in our opinion, with their exquisite level of finish combined with perfect proportions, and movements that are truly a sight to behold.

The 41mm square-verging-on cushion case is fashioned in steel, which is important as not only is it hardy, but also allows the fitment of an aftermarket bracelet, such as a Staib, which takes the usability of this watch to a another level and allows it to be worn year-round. The Galet line were famously designed to evoke a small stone weathered for eons in a babbling brook, and the lines of the Square are softened, yet strong, almost like a Radiomir that has been subjected to the same natural weathering. It wears beautifully on the wrist, feeling both classic and contemporary at the same time.

Within this case lies the most magnificent sunburst ice blue dial, with an almost sector-style hour circle, railroad style minute track, countersunk small seconds subdial. There are applied 18k white gold tear-drop style indices at 9, 12 and 3, their shape of which echoes the Assegai 18k white gold hands. The hands are our favourite feature dial-side of LF's, and some of the very best fitted to any watch in production today in our opinion. To see them under a loupe is perfection personified.

Flip it over and you're greeted by the calibre 229.01, and it's this that Laurent Ferrier are perhaps best known for. The automatic micro-rotor movement utilises a natural double direct-impulse escapement which greatly improves the efficiency, with the use of such an escapement being very uncommon due to the technical proficiency required to design and manufacture at any sort of scale. The architecture of the movement is stunning as well, an example of beautiful form following function, and the finishing is top notch. Bevels are finished by hand, black polish abounds, and the Côtes de Genève applied with a hand-wheel and perfectly aligned. The rotor bridge is perfectly beveled and polished, and the interior angles of the black polished balance cock are a sign of no corners being cut when it comes to finish. 

It finished with a lovely LF dark brown 'gator strap, and LF pin buckle in steel.

This particular piece was purchased in September 2023 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition. Worn by the previous owner as part of a large collection, the case and bezel show only very light hairlines and swirl marks. No nicks/dings etc present. Please see images for full condition details.

The strap shows barely any wear, and the buckle shows minor desk dive marks.

Remains under the balance of manufacturers warranty until September 2026.
