Piaget Polo 7131 C701 Square 18k Gold

We see a lot of watches come through the door here at Watch Vault HQ, so it usually takes something really special for us to grab a coffee, sit down and really appreciate a watch we've not had the pleasure of viewing before. This is one of those watches.

Dating from the 80's, this is one special Piaget. The case is constructed in 18k gold, and measures in at 25mm x 31mm, and under 6mm thick. Integrated into this case is one of the most spectacular bracelets we've ever come across. Also constructed in 18k gold, this fully integrated bracelet is superbly detailed with its elevated polished gadroons, which carry on all the way through the to the watch head, blending seamlessly into the case. This is more of a bracelet with a watch inside, rather than a watch with a bracelet. It's pure art for the wrist. In combination with the case has a heft you don't initially expect when first picking it up, weighing in at just under 130g! That's a whole lot of gold.

The case and bracelet show signs of polishing, and show minor scratches and scuffs. Hallmark on the side of the case has mostly been taken off by someone a little overzealous with a polishing wheel, with the indentation remaining visible. Case back markings are crisp, as is the hallmark.

The dial itself is in spectacular condition, with only mild patina. Hands are excellent.

Bracelet will fit roughly a 7.6in wrist with all links fitted, so very large for this era. Most pieces you see are far shorter, and links are very expensive especially with the current price of gold. Plus you'd have to find one, so having one this large is very rare indeed. Shows minor scratches and scuffs, and is extremely tight.

It's powered by the 7P3 quartz movement with unique rear-setting crown. Was serviced in May 2025, including a new battery. It's running at about +2 minutes a day at the moment. Probably not a daily wearer, so easy enough to just set the time on the occasions you do wear it, but it does include a new old stock control board procured by the previous owner if it does bother you.

Comes with Watch Vault travel case and cleaning cloth, as well as a later Piaget box, and the aforementioned control board.

Produced in around 2-3000 units total, this is an uncommon and very special watch that combines everything we love about 80's excess, with Piaget's phenomenal abilities with gold. An amazing piece of craftsmanship.
