Grand Seiko Heritage Hi-Beat 'Snow on the Blue Lake' Limited Edition SBGH287
Released in 2021 as a 140 piece limited edition for Southeast Asia, and it is absolutely stunning.
Taking inspiration from fresh snow sitting atop a lake, the texture of the dial is quite a bit different to a Skyflake despite the shade being very similar, with a granular finish with a light sparkle throughout. It's breathtaking in person. Other colours present are very restrained, leaving the dial base to draw your attentions. The text is in black, with the applied logo, and typically sharp and supremely finished Dauphine hands and markers in steel. The markers deserve a mention, as they are slim and raised, and quite unlike the broad markers now favoured on many GS references.
The case itself is a compact 40mm x 46.2mm x 13.3mm in steel, with classic 44GS design cues such as the broad polished facets across the lugs, and the thin brushed mid-case. These broad flanks give the watch an impressive presence on the wrist, and are unmistakably Grand Seiko.
Powering it is the excellent 9S85 Hi-Beat automatic movement, and it is mounted to a supple blue GS strap with deployant buckle.
This particular example was purchased in 2021 and presents in TZ 'Excellent' condition. The broad Zaratsu polished flanks show minor scratches and hairlines as is inevitable for such large polished areas, though nothing deep. The case sides shows some light rub marks and hairlines, as does the bezel. Case back shows some minor scratches. Please see images for full condition details.
Strap is in wonderful condition, and the clasp shows light desk dive marks.
All functions operating as they should, and currently keeping COSC time when measured dial-up on a timegrapher.
Comes with outer sleeve, outer box, inner box, warranty card dated November 2021, Boutique card, inspection certificate and instruction manual.
