Linde Werdelin 3 Timer White Dial

Linde Werdelin holds a special place in our hearts here at Watch Vault, with our personal collection having at least one Linde Werdelin in it continuously for the past 15 years. We've owned a lot of them over the years, and to us this is one of their most successful designs and an absolute favourite. Probably why we used to own a 3 Timer ourselves.

Released in 2009, the 3-timer was an evolution of the existing Biformeter, utilising the same case and a rotating bezel, but instead of the latters dive scale it utilised a 24-hr scale, hence the 3-Timer name.

The case measures in at 46mm, but that is ear-to-ear from the underside of the case, so we find they wear more like a 44mm due to the large bezel and angled case extensions. From the face-side it measures 44mm across, and 40mm across the bezel. Don't be put off by the dimensions, the ergonomic case with downward facing lugs and flared strap makes it very comfy on the wrist.

The white guilloche textured dial is stunning, and superbly executed. One of our favourite things about Linde Werdelin, and a lot of companies founded by industrial designers a la Ressence etc, is that the details are always paid attention to. Just look at that date window; the angle, the font, the colour match. A lot of designers for Swiss watch brands should take note. It's also not a cluttered dial in any way, allowing the radiating guilloche pattern to be the star. The hands are diamond cut and rhodium, as are the applied indices, and feature LumiNova.

Powering it is the very reliable and robust ETA 2893-2, and it's water resistant to 300m, and the amazing Linde Werdelin steel bracelet allows full use of the this water resistance. This bracelet is a work of art in itself, with an Armadillo like structure which has since been utilised by a number of brands, but LW was the first.

This particular piece was purchased from LW in 2022 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition. There's some very minor scratches and small marks present on the polished sections of the case, but nothing deep. Brushed surfaces are very clean, with some light marks on the bezel. The bracelet includes all links, and shows minor desk dive marks.

Timekeeping is at COSC measured dial-up on a timegrapher. All functions operating as they should.
