What is it with the 70's and amazing TV shaped cases? The Vacheron Constantin 2136 was introduced in the 70's, and embodies all that was cool about this era of design.
It's rectangular TV style case, affectionately known to Italian collectors as 'Il Televisore', measures in at 34mm across, with a 37mm lug-to-lug, and is crafted in 18k yellow gold. Watches in this shape tend to wear larger than their round counterparts, and it has real presence when on the wrist. The case is beautifully preserved, with crisp hallmarks and clear serial number present. The crown features the VC Maltese Cross.
Within this case lies a matching 18k Sigma dial, with beautiful horizontal brushed linen finish, baton markers and an applied Maltese Cross. It's in nice condition for its age, with marks present throughout.
Powering it is Vacheron Constantin Cal. K1014 manually wound movement, and it's mounted to a lovely aftermarket blue 'gator strap on 18k VC pin buckle.
Service history is unknown. Winds smoothly. Currently keeping time at around +20 seconds a day at 225 degrees of amplitude.
Comes as watch-only. No box or papers.
