Ming 37.09 Uni
Ming’s meteoric rise from micro-brand to fully-fledged independent powerhouse has been swift, and in our opinion well deserved. The 37.09 is their latest take on the dive formula, taking over from the 18.01. A recipient of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève Sports Watch Prize, it is compact, highly legible, and an unmistakably 'Ming' take on the modern compressor-cased dive watch.
The DLC-coated stainless steel case measures in at 38mm, with a thickness of 12.8mm, 2.8mm of which is the heavily domed sapphire crystal which makes it appear very slender on the wrist. The absence of a traditional external bezel makes it feel a little larger on the wrist than 38mm, so visually perhaps more like a 39-40mm, but with the case proportions of a 38. Being a compressor-style case, the dive scale is internal, with the lower crown operating this above or below the waters surface. The upper crown is a screw-down, and allows this watch to have a water resistance of 600m.
The dial and crystal are pretty spectacular, as you'd expect of Ming. The hour indices are actually on the inside of the crystal, and the effect this gives when viewed on an angle is very cool indeed. It's brimmed with lume, and the orange against black is the perfect colour combo for a darth spec watch like this.
It’s powered by the manual-wind Sellita for MING SW300.M1, with skeletonised rotor and bridges in a matte anthracite finish. It offers 50 hours of power reserve with bidirectional automatic winding.
It comes mounted on a stunning pre-curved FKM rubber strap with DLC coated buckle that is supremely comfortable.
This particular piece was delivered in February 2025, and remains in TZ 'Mint' condition, with no signs of wear that we can see on the case or buckle. Please see images for full condition details.
Remains under manufacturers warranty until Feb 2027.
