Otsuka Lotec No 7.5 

What is it with self-taught watchmakers and incredible watches? Otsuka Lotec was the brainchild of Jiro Katayama, a car designer turned watchmaker, who has a clear love for steampunk aesthetics and is creating some of the coolest and best value independent watches to come out of Japan right now. 

The 7.5 was first introduced in 2021, and the design was inspired by vintage 3-lens turret 8mm cameras, though shades of Halter Antiqua can clearly be seen. The case measures in at 40mm, and is crafted in steel. The topside of the case is then sandblasted, and rising from it are three apertures with circular brushing, and show the hour, minute and running seconds disc.

Powering it is a Miyota 82S5 automatic movement with an in-house designed jump hour module. The wire lugs and padded calfskin strap make it supremely comfortable on the wrist.

This particular example was purchased in December 2023 and presents in TZ 'Mint' condition, with only the very lightest hints of any use present. Please see images for full condition details.

All functions operating as they should, and keeping time at around +11 seconds a day face-up on a timegrapher.
