A. Lange and Sohne Lange 1 White Gold 101.039
Introduced in 2009, the 101.039 is a stunning execution of the iconic Lange 1.
Featuring a 38.5mm white gold case housing a brilliant silver argenté dial, it is powered by the Lange Caliber L901.0 hand-winding mechanical movement with twin barrels and a 72 hour power reserve. What makes this reference of Lange 1 so interesting is that it features luminous hands, adding a little sport and added practicality to an already very special watch.
The L901.0 is as gorgeous and well finished as ever, perhaps even more so than the later models. We tend to be of the belief that the earlier executions of the Lange 1 were better finished, and the Glashutte stripes are visually very deep, and the contrast that the German silver provides against the white gold case is particularly lovely.
It's mounted to an aftermarket Artisan 'gator strap in a short size, and finished off with perhaps the nicest tang buckle in the business.
This particular example looks to have been sold as new old stock in 2021, and presents in TZ Good condition. The bezel shows hairlines, light scuffs and some small dings. There are also some nicks present on the edge of the case back where it meets the mid case on the left side, and some small pin dents on the lugs. Rear of the lugs show strap change marks. Brushed surfaces show some light rub marks and small scratches. Buckle shows desk diving marks. Please see images for full details.
No known service history, but you wouldn't expect any of a watch that was sold only a few years ago. Keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.
