Blancpain Leman Fly-Back Chronograph 2185F-1130-71
One of the coolest Blancpain’s that’s ever graced our wrists, the 2185F is a high-end tool watch that manages to feel super-tough and practical, while also being a thing of beauty with clearly very high levels of fit and finish.
Featuring a 38mm case in steel with screw down pushers, it houses a stunning black dial with lumed Arabic numerals that are executed in a lovely shade of turquoise. While some Blancpains from this era can feel a little flat in the dial, not a bit of it with this reference. The minutes, hours, and sub-dials are all located on their own track, with the sub-dials themselves also featuring multiple layers. For something so thin, it has a huge amount of depth and detail. It's topped with heavily lumed hands, with a discreet date window at 6.
It’s powered by the magnificent Blancpain F185 caliber, based on the highly regarded F.Piguet 1185 movement, and features a column wheel flyback chronograph complication, and is finished with a wonderful Blancpain steel bracelet. It’s an amazingly versatile watch that features enough detail to always be interesting when you look down at it, but unobtrusive enough to fly under the radar. Just what a modern tool watch should do.
This particular example presents in TZ 'Good' condition. The bezel shows some minor scratches and scuffs, though nothing large. The case sides shoe minor marks, and the reason for the 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' grading is the presence of some dings along the sides of the lugs. Case back shows mild scratches.Please see images for full condition details.
The bracelet will suit up to a roughly 6.75in wrist, with one spare half link. Shows minor desk dive marks.
Service history is unknown. Winds very crisply, and is currently keeping COSC time measured dial-up on a timegrapher at 291 degrees of amplitude. All functions operating as they should.
Comes with outer box, inner box, booklets and spare half link. No papers.
A fantastic wearing tool-watch from one of Blancpain's most interesting eras.
