Grand Seiko Evolution 9 'Moonlit Birch' Manual Wind SLGW007
Introduced at Watches and Wonders 2024, the SLGW003 introduced the fabulous 9SA4 manual wind movement, Grand Seiko's first newly developed manual wind Hi-Beat movement in 50 years. Combined with the sporty yet elegant Evolution 9 design, it is one of their most impressive releases to date. Then, in 2025 they added to this design language with the introduction of the Moonlit Birch, reference SLGW007, with it's stunning deep blue birch dial and case in stainless steel.
The case measures in at 38.6mm, with a 45.4mm lug-to-lug, and just 9.95mm thick. The stainless steel case is a beautiful mix of polished and brushed surfaces, with lovely proportions and is very comfortable on the wrist thanks to its modest weight, and the curvature of the case. The Moonlit Birch dial within is classic modern Grand Seiko but with a midnight blue twist, with applied faceted markers which are slimmer than those found on the SLGH005, matching the sporty elegance of the case. It's topped off with the broad, brushed Evolution 9 handset.
As amazing as all of this is, our favourite aspect of the watch is still that 9SA4 manual wind, Hi-Beat movement. Not only is it a technical powerhouse with its Dual Impulse Escapement, twin barrels, 80 hours of power reserve, free-sprung balance and overcoil hairspring, but has one of the most delectable winding clicks this side of a Laurent Ferrier. It's also quite the looker.
This particular piece was first sold locally in October 2025 and presents in TZ 'Mint condition', with barely any hints of wear at all. Please see images for full condition details.
Strap is near-new, and it remains under the balance of Grand Seiko warranty.
Comes with outer box, inner case, booklets, warranty card dated October 2025, Seiko Inspection Certificate, and hang tags.
