Grand Seiko Sport SBGJ239 Hi-Beat GMT
Released in 2020, the SBGJ239 is one of the most accomplished sports pieces from Grand Seiko, packing a huge amount of functionality into it's hand finished steel case.
The case itself measures in at 44.15mm, 14.6mm thick, with a lug-to-lug of 50.8mm. It features beautiful curves, with a mixture of brushed and Zaratsu polished surfaces, notably for the sharply cut sides of the case which help it feel much smaller on the wrist than it's diameter would indicate. Surrounding it is a sapphire-capped steel bezel, which is probably our favourite part of the watch. It's heavily lumed, and looks amazing in person whether in light or darkness.
The dial is a stunning deep forest green, with applied hand-finished markers. The hands are broad, and masterfully brushed, and also heavily-lumed. Powering it is the 9S86 Hi-Beat movement with 55 hour power reserve, excellent shock resistance, and fantastic travel functionality. To top it off it is 200m water resistant, and mounted to GS' steel bracelet so that water resistance can be utilised, with the OEM 'gator strap on deployant also supplied so you can change the look up as desired.
This particular example was purchased in January 2021 and presents in TZ 'Good' condition. Sides of the case show scuffs and minor scratches. Lower left and upper left lugs shows small dings, as do the bevel lines. Inner bezel ring shows scratching. There's some marks around the lug holes, and top and bottom of the lugs show marks from strap changes. Please see images for full condition details.
Bracelet includes all links, and shows desk dive marks, mainly towards the upper links near the case, and clasp. OEM 'gator strap is in excellent condition, and comes mounted to the GS deployant clasp.
No service history, but too new for that. Keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.
Comes with outer sleeve, outer box (shows some wear), inner box, warranty card dated January 2021, GS inspection certificate, hang tag, spare links to complete the bracelet and OEM 'gator strap on GS deployant.
