Not many watches enjoy the vast lineage and strength of catalogue that the Carrera has enjoyed, with so many iconic references throughout the last 60 years. The reference 510.523 is relatively unknown other than to those hardcore collectors, but is quite special as it was the last to be released under the purely Heuer brand, and therefore the very last of the 'Vintage' Carrera's.
The contemporary 37.5mm x 43.5mm x 14.6mm sized steel case continues on with the amazing design language Heuer enjoyed in the 70's, with its distinctive tonneau shape and amazing sunray finishing. Within this case lies a matte black dial, with a layout typical of Lemania 5100 based movements which looks oh-so-purposeful, and pure tool watch in its aesthetic.
As above, it's powered by the workhorse and historically significant Lemania 5100, just the movement you want powering your 80's chronograph.
This particular watch is fairly special, as not only is it a one-owner watch, but it is also a transitional piece fitted to the amazing TAG Heuer branded bracelet from factory, but retaining its unsigned crown and pump pushers with purely Heuer branding on the dial. You'd think it doesn't get much better than that, but it also comes with its original box and papers. Wow...
Condition is phenomenal. Has not been polished, and all finishing is extremely strong and just as it would have been when new, other than some small marks as you'd expect. Dial is flawless, and tritium markers match the tritium hands.
The bracelet is very tight, and fully linked.
Has not been serviced. Chrono operating as it should, and keeping time at about +35 secs a day at low 200's amplitude.

This is an absolutely spectacular example of a rare vintage Heuer. They just don't come up with box and papers in this sort of condition, and one-owner provenance. It's as good as it gets.
