Our love for the Reverso here at Watch Vault HQ is no secret, and the Grande Sun Moon was one of the first references that made us fall in love with them back in the 2000's.

One of the largest offerings in the Reverso range at the time, the XGT case was based around the case introduced for the 70th anniversary Reverso of 2002. It's steel case measures in at 46.6mm x 29.5mm x 12.1mm making it a great fit for the larger wrist. Within this case lies an absolutely stunning silver matte finish dial, with quite a bit going on with this complicated piece. On the bottom right you'll find running seconds running above a beautiful moonphase, below which you'll find lovely rayon finishing. Just below 2 you'll find the Day/Night indicator, and to the left of that you'll find the 8 day power reserve indicator. Interestingly, despite it being called the 8 day, and showing an 8 day indicator, the watch will actually run for closer to 10 days. It's most accurate within the first 8 days, hence JLC remind you to wind it every 8 days rather than running out to 10.

Flip it over, and you're greeted with the the spectacular manual wind calibre 873 with it's twin mainspring barrels, multiple finishing techniques, and a stunning amount of depth. You'll also notice that it is correctly sized and shaped for the case, indicating it was designed with exactly this watch in mind, which is something we love to see.

This particular pieces was originally purchased in 2008, and presents in TZ 'Good' condition. Has been worn regularly, and the case shows hairlines and swirl marks throughout. There's some minor nicks on the upper gadroons, and the lugs show strap change marks on either side. Case back shows some scratching. Nothing that wouldn't be taken care of by a polish on its next service from what we can see. Please see images for condition details.

Comes on a stunning blue JLC 'gator strap that has been used, but has plenty of life left, and comes mounted on the excellent JLC deployant clasp which shows desk dive marks. Also includes the original brown 'gator strap which is in excellent condition.  

Has not had a service, but running well at +25 seconds a day at 290 degrees of amplitude at full wind dial-up on a timegrapher.
