Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar Q4138420

The Master Control line has been a staple of the line-up for some years now, and is Jaeger LeCoultre doing what it has traditionally done best; beautiful, classic complicated dress watches made to an extremely high standard at very reasonable money. While we love the simple executions of the MC line, the complicated pieces stand out as something truly special. This particular version is known as the Master Control Chronograph Calendar, and features a triple calendar in the classic JLC layout, and adds a Chronograph complication on top. Serious watchmaking, from a serious watchmaker.

It features a wonderfully proportioned and beautifully finished steel 40mm case measuring just over 12mm in thickness, and a compact 47.5mm lug-to-lug. Within this case lies a silver opaline dial which is surrounded by a Pulsations scale, for that proper mid-century chronograph charm.

The dial layout is classic JLC Triple Calendar, with apertures for the month and day of the week, and a subdial featuring a pointer date which sits above a wonderfully detailed starry-skyed moonphase. At the outer edges of the dial you'll find polished dart indices, which feature small lume plots on their outer edge, and it is topped with Dauphine hands for the hours and minutes that also conceal some small lume strips to aid legibility in low light. The Chronograph hands are blued, and look stunning against the silver opaline.

Powering it is the in-house automatic chronograph cal.759, with hacking seconds, two main barrels, vertical clutch and column wheel to go along with its 65 hours of power reserve.

Finishing it off is a beautiful factory JLC Calfskin strap made by Camille Fournet, with JLC deployant buckle in steel. It also includes a 'short' size in the same spec.

This particular piece was first sold in 2022 and presents in TZ 'Excellent' condition. Case is in lovely condition overall. The left side shows some minor rub marks on the brushed surface, and the bezel shows some scratches and a couple of small scrapes, one between 10-11 and the other between 4-5. Case back shows some small rub marks and hairlines. Please see images for full condition details.

The strap is fairly new, and shows some minor darkening wear it passes through the buckle. The short strap which is also included shows only very minor wear. Buckle shows some light desk dive marks.

No service history, much too new for that. All functions operating as they should, and is keeping COSC time when measured dial-up on a timegrapher. Remains under manufacturers warranty until 2030.
