A complication that has become synonymous with JLC, the Memovox is what we think of when we hear JLC. Launched in the mid-90's, the 141.840.972B is a near-perfect execution of the Memovox line, combining classic looks, perfect sizing, and that unmistakable JLC build quality to produce a daily-wearable dress piece with a genuinely useful complication.
Featuring a 40mm steel case that's 14mm thick (necessary for the alarm module), and a very wearable 46mm lug to lug, it features beautifully polished flanks and lugs, and a nicely profiled stepped sloping bezel. It houses a sleek opaline silver dial in traditional Memovox layout, with Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9, with applied dart indices with lumed outer dots, and the perfectly integrated alarm complication on the inner portion. It's topped with rhodium coated lumed hands allowing for excellent legibility in low light, and manages the brilliant JLC trick of being elegant and sporty at the same time, making for an extremely versatile piece that’s equally at home with a suit or a Tee and jeans.
Underneath this stunning dial lays the JLC in-house calibre 918, with approximately 45 hours of power reserve, 18kt gold rotor and that famous alarm complication.
This particular example was first sold in 2001 and presents in excellent neo-vintage condition. The case shows swirls and hairlines throughout, but no deep nicks/dings/dents etc. All numbers on the case back are crisp and clear, and the medallion is in great condition. Lugs show some strap change marks.
The dial is in very good condition. Has some small marks/scratches visible under a loupe which would be from servicing, but not really visible to the naked eye. Small dust particle near 8 on the outer edge. Hands are in excellent condition.
Comes mounted to a 'gator JLC strap with JLC folding deployant buckle, both in very good condition.

Specific service history is unknown. Currently keeping COSC time dial-up on a timegrapher, and all functions operating as they should.
