Kurono Tokyo Calendrier Type 1
For those unaware of Kurono Tokyo, it is the sub-brand of renowned independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka, whom is widely regarded as one of the top watchmakers in the world. His watches are produced in extremely limited numbers, each an individual commission that can take years to deliver. In order to allow some of his magic to be enjoyed by the wider public, he created the Kurono Tokyo brand. These watches are designed by Hajime-san, but utilise components created to his specification from external manufacturers. Each watch then passes through his hands to ensure the quality is worthy of his name.
The Calendrier Type 1 is one of their latest releases, and ushers in a new design language as well as being the first complete calendar watch from the manufacturer.
Housed within it's beautifully polished 37.5mm steel case is a Khaki dial with stunning blacklettered vintage typeface, guilloche finishing on the subdials, discreet date at 6, and all topped with high polish hands. It is highly legible, beautiful and very distinct in it's aesthetic.
Surrounding this lovely dial is a coin-edge bezel, giving a more rugged look to the case than models that have come before it.
The Calendrier I is powered by Miyota 9122, and the entire watch is assembled in Japan by hand and QC checked under the watchful eye of Hajime Asaoka himself.
This particular piece was firs delivered in October 2022 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition, with only small hairlines and light swirls present. Please see images for full condition details.
Currently mounted to a lovely handmade Italian leather strap from ColaReb with two extra holes punched, and also includes the original strap which is unworn.
Comes with everything as per new, including outer box, inner box, warranty card dated October 2022, Kurono decorative cloth, corrector pin, notepad, original strap and Watch Vault cleaning cloth.
