Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch ST 145.0022
The Speedy Pro Moonwatch needs no introduction, so we won't give it one. All you need to know is that this is one of the most iconic, if not the most, chronograph in the business.
This particular example is one of the highly coveted 145.0022 which would date from the very late 80's, and presents in excellent vintage condition. Case is thick and shows excellent finishes, with some wear from regular use in the form of some small nicks around the outer edge of the bezel and bevel lines, and some minor pin dents and scratches elsewhere.
The dial is in fantastic condition, with the tritium markers taking on a lovely hue. The hands are tritium, and show some minor cracking under a loupe.
Caseback is stamped 145.022, which is correct for these. Plexi shows minor marks.
The 1450 bracelet is perhaps our favourite feature of this 145.0022, and this example is in lovely condition. Complete with 808 endlinks, it shows only minor stretch for its age and includes enough links to fit roughly a 7.5in wrist. These are very desirable in their own right, and quite expensive to buy on the secondary market.
Powered by the iconic manual wind chronograph calibre 861, it’s running very nicely in this example. Chrono starts, stops and resets as it should. Winds smoothly and keeping time at around -11 seconds a day timed dial-up on a timegrapher. Amplitude is over 300 degrees, so could be regulated to be closer to COSC time without too much of an issue we'd say.
Comes with 2 x Omega Nato straps. No box or papers.
Wonderful example of a very desirable vintage Speedy reference with one of the best bracelets they've ever made.
