When Jump Hours are executed correctly they can be used to create some of the most fascinating and beautiful watches out there, creating an intrigue to the dial not seen on traditional two or three-handers, and Oris has done a masterful job on the Artelier Jumping Hours.

It utilises a 40.5 x 47 x 11.3mm case in steel, which is surprisingly complex in its construction. The case tapers form case back to bezel, meaning the largest part of the case is the case back, allowing it to look slimmer on the wrist. The lugs are a part of the case back rather than the mid-case, with a sporty touch perfect for everyday wear on what is aesthetically quite a dressy watch. There's brushing, polishing and bevels for a case that is certainly not run of the mill.

Within this case lies a silver opaline dial that has an asymmetric time display that somehow manages perfect balance. The Jump Hour is displayed prominently at 12, and is surrounded by a sunken minute track, with a sub-seconds below. The dial features a pressed Guilloché pattern for the area inside of the minute track, and the negative space areas surrounding it, and the sub-seconds has a fine concentric circle pattern. A lovely thing to behold.

Powering it is the Oris 917, which is a Sellita SW 300-1 with Duboid Depraz module on top for the jump hour complication. There's a great article on it on Worn and Wound, so check it out for an in-depth rundown.

This particular piece presents in TZ 'Good' condition. The case is in lovely condition, with minor hairlines and some small scratches and scuffs present. The reason for the 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' grading is a couple of extremely small pin dents on the side of the case. They're tiny, but listing them for full disclosure. The dial shows a very minor mark in the stamped Guilloche just to the right of 'ORIS', which would have been like that from factory. Please see images for full condition details.

The factory 'gator strap is in excellent condition, and the steel deployant shows some minor desk dive marks.

No service history. All functions operate as they should and keeping COSC time.
