Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio 47mm PAM00662 PAM662 ‘Egiziano Piccolo’ LE - 2017

Released in a limited run of 1000 units, the PAM662 is a homage to the original Egiziano Piccolo ref 6154 which were supplied to the Egyptian Navy in 1954.

As described by Panerai:

Originally no more than 30 or 40 examples of the Egiziano Piccolo were produced, making it one of the most sought-after vintage Panerai watches, and the new Radiomir 1940 3 Days is a faithful re-creation of it, updated to meet the current standards of high quality sports watchmaking. The distinctive, original element of the model is the brown dial, its colour inspired by that of the vintage watches which have undergone the discolouring effect caused by the luminous material.

These 47mm Radiomir 1940’s cases from Panerai are an absolute favourite in the range for us. The proportions of the case feels spot on, and the weight disbursement across the wrist makes them more comfortable than the 44mm range in our opinion.

The domed plexiglass creates a wonderful distortion to the dial when viewed on an angle, not unlike a Speedy Pro with hesalite. It adds a warmth not seen in other versions. Combined with the classic Panerai 1940’s Rad aesthetic, it’s one of the coolest pieces released by Panerai in the last decade and our personal favourite next to the ‘Fiddy’.

As above, this particular piece was sold locally in 2017 and presents in TZ Good condition. Bezel and case show some scratches and light scrapes from regular wear, as well as a few small dings. Plexi is very clean, and the second plexi is also included within the package. See images for full condition details.

Currently mounted to an aftermarket strap with aftermarket buckle, it also includes the original buckle and strap in excellent condition, as well as 3 other aftermarket options.

Serviced in May 2022 by Panerai, it is running beautifully, keeping COSC time. The previous owner chose not to have it polished as part of this service, hence the marks on the case. Remains under service warranty.
