Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 SD4K 40mm 116600
In our opinion the SD4K is the 6 digit reference which most closely aligns with the historical tool-watch roots of Rolex, and is one of our favourite releases from the Big R in the last decade or so.
The combination of the 40mm case, lack of cyclops for the date window, matte dial and narrow lugs is perfection. The recent move by Rolex to slimmer lugs shows they had it right with this version of the SD, with the Goldilocks case sizing and discreet IYKYK aesthetic, and a short 3 year production run it's no wonder they're so highly regarded amongst the community.
This particular piece was first purchased locally in 2016 and presents in TZ 'Good' condition. The case shows marks from regular wear with light scratches and scuffs present, mostly on the polished case sides. The bevel lines show some very minor nicks, as does the lower case edge, but they're very small. Little hard to see in images, but they're there when studied carefully and we like to ensure full disclosure and believe most would come out during a case refinish when it next goes to RSC. Case back has a few small scratches and rub marks. Please see images for full condition details.
Bracelet has 11 links, and will fit an 8in+ wrist at full extension. Shows desk dive marks throughout, though more concentrated on the clasp.
Looks to have gone into the Rolex Service Centre in 2020 for some work under warranty, though no details on what that was. Currently keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.
Comes with outer box, inner box, card holder, instruction booklet, guarantee manual, green hang tag, white hang tag, divers extension, warranty card (expired) and RSC letter.
A good example with a very full set of one of Rolex's best modern references. Shows some wear, but that just means you can enjoy it without worry, and have RSC clean it up when a service is required. Perfect.
