Singer Reimagined Track 1 Launch Edition

Simply one of the coolest and most innovative Chronographs released in the last 20 years in our opinion. Created by Singer Reimagined, an offshoot of the restomodders based out of California, they have done to the wristwatch what they've so famously done to the 964 911, creating a modern interpretation of the 60's and 70's racing chronograph. 

But they've not just gone and taken the design and added modern materials, this is a re-imagining, not a re-issue. The idea behind the watch was to make the chronograph the centrepiece. In order to do this, chief designer and co-founder Marco Borraccino along with co-founder Rob Dickinson enlisted the help of Agenhor, the famous movement makers who have won an amazing 9 GPHG awards for their movements. They just happened to be in the midst of designing a new Chronograph movement, known as the AgenGraphe, which just so happened to be the most thorough reworking of the chronograph movement since its invention. We won't go into the full details of what makes the AgenGraphe so special, but would suggest reading the excellent article on Quill and Pad who go into it in great detail.

Along with its amazing technological advances such as the Agenclutch, it also places the Chronograph as a module within the centre of the movement, and this is central to the design of the Singer Track 1. As above, Singer wanted to make the Chrono the centrepiece as traditionally the chronograph has taken a back seat to time telling. But this is not so useful when you're actually wanting to time something. So within the centre of the dial lies a 60 second counter, 60 minute counter and 60 hour counter all read centrally. This makes it extremely intuitive to use, and an absolute pleasure to operate as the pushers are buttery-smooth with the perfect detent.

Time-telling is taken care of by two rotating discs on the periphery, and the chrono second hand can also be left running if desired with no extraneous wear on the movement. It is also an automatic movement. But wheres the rotor, you may ask? It's dial side, allowing an uninterrupted view of the movement but without the drawbacks of a manual wind.

The version we have here is the Launch Edition, and is our personal favourite. The case is crafted in titanium and measures in at 43mm, but 50mm lug to lug help it to fit quite a large variety of wrists (that's shorter than a Black Bay 41). The craftsmanship of the case is just superb, and it may possibly be the most comfortable watch I've ever strapped onto my wrist. The curvature and lightweight just work perfectly to keep it in position, and the visual effect of the sunray brushing and polished bevels, along with the distinct mid-case, allow it to not feel too tall on thew wrist despite a 15mm height. It is anything but slab-sided. To top it off, it's also 100m water  resistant.

This particular piece was first sold in 2018 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition, with barely any hints of use on the case at all. The strap shows some slight creasing. Buckle is perfect. See images for full condition details.

Has just returned from Singer and is mechanically running perfectly. Keeping COSC time, and all functions operating as they should.

To top it all off, this is actually the first production piece to roll off the line, so is historically significant. But regardless of that, it is simply one of the coolest modern Chronographs.
